Maternushaus was opened in 1983 in the heart of Cologne. The Congress Centre of archdiocese of Cologne is impressive because of its unique architecture and, at the same time, its harmonious, functional layout.

The overall design of the house radiates a sense of equilibrium and harmony, making it ideal for holding conferences, educational events and banquets. It was named after Saint Maternus, the first known bishop of Cologne.
